Primaveral IV

£65.00

Eye catching composition in blues and gold. Providing an invitation to pause, let your mind wander and have a moment to restore calm. This work pictures layers of hazel catkins sparkling in spring sunshine - it captures that moment when the spring sun warms your face and the coldness of winter recedes as we look to the promise of new growth and warmer times. A picture like this captures that feeling to enjoy all year round.

Fusing photographic interests with printmaking practice by combining two light sensitive processes to record natural forms directly and through drawing.

Created using the cyanotype process this is a unique original artwork. Further developed using screen printing and pure bronze pigment to produce the luxuries gold highlights.

My work has evolved from explorations into light sensitive media and wanting to produce artwork in nature/from nature/about nature. Each is produced using the natural forms themselves as stencils and masks - instilling direct connections to nature into each and every piece.

This work is unframed - framed mock-up photo is for illustration purposes only.

Cyanotype, gesso and pure bronze pigment on Hahnemühle paper.
Ready to Frame. Paper size approx 19 w × 27 h cm .

Cyanotypes are one of the earliest forms of photography and are today recognised as an alternative photographic process and as original printmaking. Lucy experiments with different types of cyanotype exposures and different ways of creating imagery. Using the natural forms themselves as stencils and masks as well as both analogue and digital drawings.

"Each part of the process comes with its own limitations and aspects you cannot fully control - luckily I have great faith in serendipity to lead the path forwards and take the artworks to new and unpredicted outcomes. For every success there are many failures - but it's worth it" Lucy Perry 2020

We try to represent colours as accurately as possible but differences in hue will occur due to variations in monitors and lighting. If you are interested in a artwork but unsure of how it will work with your space I can send you more images, even paint samples if you need to match a colour. It is also possible for me to produce an ‘insitu’ digital impression of how the piece would look in your room. Please email me if you wish to discuss this.
